Brian Richardson Jr. is an award-winning, business-minded leader whose experience and influence span professional sports, public health, public policy, education, nonprofit, and technology. He currently serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Administration and Community at Indiana University—an elevation of responsibilities following his previous role as Senior Advisor to the Vice Chancellor of Student Life. In this expanded capacity, he leads strategic efforts to strengthen institutional infrastructure, foster belonging, and expand partnerships that advance community and campus well-being.
A passionate educator and practitioner, Richardson is deeply committed to enhancing the learning environment for students by integrating theory with practical application. He serves as an adjunct professor for graduate students at Indiana University’s O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where he has taught for over five years. In recognition of his impact in the classroom, he received the 2025 O'Neill Adjunct Teaching Award.
Before his return to working in higher education, he served as the inaugural Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Indianapolis Colts. In that position, he led transformative initiatives within professional sports and the broader community. His leadership earned him the 2022 Champion of Diversity Award from the Indiana Minority Business Magazine.
Mr. Richardson is a nationally recognized voice on fostering community and leadership, with appearances on TEDx, the Big Ten Network, Sirius XM Radio, and across numerous Indiana-based news, radio, and magazine platforms.
He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Business Administration at Indiana Wesleyan University. His academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Culver-Stockton College, and executive certifications from Harvard Business School and the University of South Florida Mumma College of Business, respectively.
