Originally from Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Andi Cailles serves as the Assistant Dean for Student Support and Advocacy to provide support to students in need of extra care. Andi oversees the Student Advocates Office where she leads the coordination of emergency funding options for students and works to enhance support and services for off-campus students, including the unique challenges faced by graduate students while pursuing their academic goals.
Prior to this role, Andi served for two years as the Director of Residential Life here at IU providing leadership and oversight to the undergraduate residence halls students and staff. Andi came to IU with more than 20 years of experience serving students and leading Residential Life programs and staff at both Millikin University in Decatur, IL and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Andi received her Bachelor of Education from Western Kentucky University (WKU) in 1995 and her Master of Arts in Education also from WKU in 1998 where she studied Student Affairs & Higher Education Administration. Andi is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating safe and inclusive spaces on campus for all students, and supporting students as they navigate challenges along their educational journey here at IU.
