Dean of Students

The glue that holds the campus community together

The Dean of Students is the main office of the Division of Student Affairs. We connect students to resources and help create policies that improve everyone’s experience at IU Bloomington.

If you don’t know who to contact or where to start, the Dean of Students Office can help. Our staff helps you deal with the heavy issues, so you can focus on learning, growing, and graduating.

Open Office Hours

Walk-in and meet with a Dean of Students every Friday of the Fall 2019 semester from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. through Friday, December 20. (The office will be closed Friday, November 29)

Stop Sexual Violence IU

We are committed to ending sexual violence and misconduct. We work with Culture of Care to provide bystander intervention programs and help students overcome the physical and emotional impacts of sexual violence and misconduct.

It’s On Us

It’s On Us to end sexual assault at IU. It’s On Us is a national awareness campaign to address the issue of sexual assault on college campuses. It’s On Us encourages everyone to make a personal commitment to step up and help prevent sexual assault.

Campus Safety Walk

Each semester the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, in partnership with colleagues from IU Emergency Management and the IU Facilities department, hosts a campus safety walk. Students, staff and faculty walk through selected areas of campus to review safety measures and provide recommendations for improvement.

Gender equality

Gender inequality is a very real problem in college as well as in the workplace. We host leadership and professional development workshops for women, help female students navigate unique challenges like pregnancy and parenting, and advocate against sexual harassment and discrimination.

We help parents, too

The Parents Association at IU Bloomington keeps parents and guardians updated on important dates and deadlines throughout the year and connects them to resources on campus. Membership is free.
