Statement from the Vice Provost of Student Affairs to the COVID-19 Pandemic
TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2020
Hi Hoosiers –
We miss you. As you adjust to online learning this week, please be assured we are still here to support you.
We know that you may be trying to balance your role as an IU student with caring for younger siblings, children, or family members, serving as an associate instructor, or working essential jobs that keep our communities going, and more. While you are adapting to this new reality, lean on us, knowing that we will do all we can to help you navigate this difficult time.
Need some extra support or care?
We are here for you. Please submit a Care Referral if you are feeling concerned for yourself or another Hoosier. We will help get you or the person about whom you are concerned connected to the appropriate resources.
Keep Each Other Safe
Hoosiers help Hoosiers. If you are someone who needs to shelter-in-place in Bloomington, please remember that Governor Holcomb’s directive is to stay in your home for anything other than essential needs (like groceries, medical assistance, or limited outdoor activity at a social distance). Please remember that hosting or attending social gatherings is not an essential activity, and may have serious consequences for you as a student. One consequence may be charges under the Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities and Conduct . We know isolation can be hard, and we know you care about your community. We are here for you, so please use any and all of the services listed here to get through this time and stay healthy.
Counseling and Psychological Services
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will be offering limited services by phone/video. Appointments, including 30-minute CAPS Now visits for new clients, can be made by calling: 812-855-7688. For emergency situations, please call 911.
