Fraternity & Sorority Advising

Alumni National Pan-Hellenic Council (ANPHC)

Sorority and fraternity advisors serving the “Divine Nine” NPHC chapters meet three times per semester on Thursday evenings in the Indiana Memorial Union to discuss General Council and individual chapter initiatives. Advisors focus attention on “Weeks” proposals, academic excellence plans, programming ideas, service projects, fundraising, and intake events.

Alumni Multi-Cultural Greek Council (AMCGC)

Sorority and fraternity advisors meet twice per semester in the early evening at the Indiana Memorial Union to discuss chapter programming issues, intake programs and events, and service opportunities; and to share information and best practices. Advisors support the efforts of the MCGC Council and individual sororities and fraternities.

Greek Advisory Board (GAB)

The Greek Advisory Board comprises representatives from the four alumni councils, four undergraduate councils, IUSF Board of Associates, and university staff from the IU Foundation, the IU Alumni Association, Student Life and Learning, and Dean of Students offices. The purpose of the Greek Advisory Board is to complement the mission of Student Life and Learning through service, communication, and programs that promote and foster alumni/ae involvement.

Student Life and Learning Partnership with Alumni and Chapter Presidents

Student Life and Learning (SLL) Greek Team Staff provides workshops and roundtable discussions for the alumni advisors. Additionally, staff members are assigned to individual chapters and meet with the chapter president monthly throughout the academic year. SLL communicates regularly with house directors/live-in advisors and alumni volunteers who serve on chapter Corporation Boards and Advisory Boards.
