Community Engagement

Hoosier Service Leaders Program

The Hoosier Service Leaders Program engages and employs student leaders in meaningful service locally, within the country, and around the world.

Selected as incoming freshmen to IU Bloomington, Hoosier Service Leaders receive a highly selective and competitive four year scholarship funded through Cox Civic Scholars and MacDonald Scholars for their service and campus outreach.

Hoosier Service Leaders participate in robust leadership development education to hone their skills and expand their knowledge about social justice. These student scholars work with a local Bloomington or regional nonprofit agency. They provide hands-on direct service as well as outreach to support IU students and student organizations looking to engage in community service.

The goal of the Hoosier Service Leaders is to make a profound and sustainable positive impact on communities locally and around the world.
