Responding to Misconduct Charges
The IU Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct identifies the basic rights, responsibilities, and expectations of all IU students and student groups. When you fail to uphold the standards of the Code, you may be charged with misconduct.
There are two broad types of misconduct: academic and personal. Incidents involving drugs, alcohol, sexual violence, and assault are considered acts of personal misconduct.
Indiana University takes any allegation of misconduct very seriously. We can help you:
- Review and understand the charges and/or sanctions
- Understand your rights
- Navigate the details
- Prepare for meetings and hearings during the judicial process
We can also attend judicial meetings and conferences in an advisory role, if requested.
