The Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office “Pretrial Diversion Program (PDP)”

A “citation” is the same as an arrest.

  • This program is made available at the discretion of the Prosecutor depending on the offense, and an individual’s prior criminal history.  More egregious offenses such as drunk driving, drug dealing, or incidents involving violence are not eligible for this program.
  • The fee for PDP is fixed, by law, at $425.00.
  • Students wishing to ask for legal representation can expect to spend more than $1,000 in lawyer fees.
  • In addition to court fees, you can expect fees if you face penalties on campus.  All students found to violate campus alcohol and drug policies will be referred to OASIS for counseling intervention. There is a fee of $200 for each referral.
