Use this form to nominate an individual sorority or fraternity member for a GAAP award. The application requires a one-page essay. If you are nominating one person for multiple awards, only one essay is required.
Nominate someone for a GAAP award
Eligibility
- Nominee must be in good standing (academically and socially) with his/her chapter and with Indiana University
- Nominee must be an active member of either an IFC, MCGC, NPHC, or PHA chapter (unless otherwise noted)
- Nominee must be enrolled at Indiana University for both the spring and fall semesters of the current academic year
Essay questions to consider
- How does this person apply the values and/or ritual of their organization to their day-to-day life?
- How has this person been impacted through their fraternity or sorority experience?
- What special contributions or impact has this person had on their organization, council, and the larger Greek community?
- What substantive, yet unrecognized, contributions has this person made to their organization, council, or the larger Greek community?
- Why does this person deserve to be recognized for their work?
- Since becoming a member, how has this person grown and developed into a strong senior member?
- How do they live the values/ritual of their organization?
- How has this person remained active and involved in their organization, council, or the larger Greek community as a senior?
- How do you foresee this person continuing to stay involved upon graduating?
- How has this person proved to be a strong president?
- How do they live the values and/or ritual of their organization?
- Please provide examples of struggles they had to overcome, hard decisions they had to make, and ways in which they had the chapter’s best interests in mind.
- How has this person proved to be a strong new member?
- How do they live the values and/or ritual of their organization?
- Please provide examples of ways they got involved, dealt with any struggles, and embody the values of a new member.
- How does this person live the values and/or ritual of their organization?
- Please provide examples of how they promote the values of their organization, educate other members about values and ritual, and embody the characteristics of an ideal member.
