Kel Thomas earned their Ph.D. in School Psychology at Indiana University where they completed a dissertation on mindfulness for classroom teachers. They completed their pre-doctoral internship and early career work at Riley Physicians where they worked as a Psychologist providing individual and group counseling and psychological assessments; in that position they also developed expertise in long-term impacts of child abuse and neglect and nonverbal forms of psycho-therapy.
Kel has special interests in mindfulness and trauma and enjoys working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and students who are in non-traditional relationships. Here at IU, Kel offers individual and group therapy, as well as outreach to LGBTQ+ students, and those on academic probation.
