Madhuri joined CAPS shortly after she completed her master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology at Penn State. Prior to this, she completed her first master’s degree in Health Psychology, in India. Madhuri worked in de-addiction, inpatient, outpatient, and community mental health settings with families, couples and individuals experiencing distress related to anxiety, trauma, depression, OCD, interpersonal and adjustment concerns. As a mental health counselor, Madhuri draws on cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, solution-focused, motivational interviewing and family-systems theories. She is trained in multi-cultural counseling and has worked closely with a culturally diverse group of college students. In addition to working at CAPS, Madhuri offers individual counseling services at the School of Optometry as an embedded counselor.
