She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2020 and is currently working towards a Doctorate of Clnical Psychology degree through the same institution.
Alese graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2011. From 2015-2018, she built a foundation of clinical skills working with nearly every age group at a Community Mental Health Center specializing in rural behavioral health care in North Central Indiana. In 2019 and 2020, she provided clinical services for ComPsych Corporation and Harold Washington College. She then provided psychotherapy services with TenaCity Psychological Services, LLC, an independent outpatient practice in Chicago, Illinois. She continued to gain experience in university counseling at School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) Wellness Center, further developing her skillset with young adults and a wide range of identities.
Alese addresses a range of concerns in therapy, including those related to life transitions, anxiety, depression, and relationships. Some additional areas of interest include men's and women's issues, gender and sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues, emotional eating, and trauma.
Alese aims to practice using an integrative approach, incorporating person-centered, existential, and psychodynamic methods. She also utilizes critical feminist, mindfulness, and multicultural lenses to fit the individual needs and experiences of her clients. Alese's goal is to build a relationship that fosters curiosity, strength, and resilience. She belives therapy should be a nonjudgmental, flexible, and supportive space that promotes growth and healing.
In her free time, Alese enjoys sitting on her porch, reading with her cats, painting, and learning how to keep plants alive. She hikes through mountains whenever possible.
