We want every IU student to succeed—in college and in life.
Students’ success is our No. 1 priority. You can see it in the lively atmosphere in the veteran student lounge. In the way an advocate listens to a student’s problem and helps him find a solution. In programs that prepare the next generation of leaders. In the way a career advisor helps a student pinpoint her interests as a freshman and write the perfect cover letter as a senior.
Led by the Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, the Division of Student Affairs has 13 departments and 150+ programs and services that:
- Guide students through life at IU
- Help resolve their problems
- Provide assistance during emergencies
- Support their health and safety
- Enhance their learning
- Involve them in meaningful activities
- Prepare them for life after IU

We serve all of IU Bloomington’s 46,000+ students. Undergraduate or graduate, American or international, four-year student or transfer, fresh out of high school or returning to school—if you’re an IU student, we’ll help you make the most of your time here.
A Campus Partner
We’re one of many student services units on campus. We partner with the others—such as Residential Programs and Services and Student Central on Union—as well as faculty, staff, parents, and community members to help students thrive.
